Abstract
In 1994, gas inventory, greenhouse gas in Indonesia, showed that the total CO2 emissions is 748.607 Gg (Giga grams), 6.409 Gg of CH4, N2O about 61 Gg, 928 Gg of NOx and CO of 11.966 Gg. While the absorption of CO2 in the same year by 364.726 Gg of forests, for the year 1994 level of CO2 emissions in Indonesia have been higher than the level of absorption. Indonesia has become a net emitter, approximately 383.881 Gg in 1994.
Increased carbon storage (carbon store) in the soil, plants and plant production has a beneficial effect on the environment and agriculture. Land cultivated plants, gembalaan fields and forests can be managed both for aspects of production and carbon storage. Approach to land management can be achieved with the implementation of land management that one of them is, nutrient management efficiency, including the addition of charcoal as a source of carbon into the soil.
