History Arboretum development
Padjadjaran University Arboretum is built on awareness of the lecturers in the department of biology for many types of plants in West Java that has been rare even those species have become extinct.
In the year 1995 the faculty approved a request by the Rector with the Rector Decree No.317/PTO.H.Kep/R95 / which allows an area of 2ha + to be used as a land Arboretum
Dated 23 March 1998 by president decree Unpad updated and because it is less extensive then enlarged to 3.5 ha, and in 2006 under Decree NO 98/J06/KEP/KP/2006 REKTOR Arboretum land set to be 13.5 ha.

Understanding Arboretum
Area is used for collecting plants arranged according to the rules include:
Have a collection of plants trees and shrubs boned a clear origin, followed by collecting data from planting, growing and life (exploration, collection, seeding, seeding, maintenance, flowering and fruiting) until the plant dies. The data needed for further education and research
Plant collection is set to follow a particular theme and named after the benefits description
Also works for: conservation, education. Tourism, community empowerment environmental perspective.
